Having worked through all the Dempsey punches and drills we are now on to the next set of movements and boxing drills. This set consists of avoiding, redirecting or blocking the punch coming at you. We started with blocking the punch.
Tuesday Dennis and I worked on creating the shape to block the punch. After discovering the shape and how it felt, then we went on to using it on a punch coming at you. The shape not only blocked the punch it created an opening and target for you to punch. It is incredibly effective and powerful. It wasn’t a one, two block and punch beat. it was a one and punch, it was almost simultaneous.
Being able to block Dennis punch and then punch him across the room is rather fun and magical. I feel like I have a new superpower. If you are interested in gaining a new super power you can join us by clicking below.
