Flow, also known as The Zone, is a peak state where you both feel your best and perform your best. Extreme athletes have been using this flow for thirty years to accelerate performance beyond any previous human levels. When you cross over into flow you can transcend time, lose self-doubt, and reach your ultimate potential.
This is why the fastest growing segment of sports is extreme sports with people trying to get into flow. The high risk nature of these sports, where death is a real possibility, is one of the factors that puts people into flow. Now the experience of flow and all its benefits are available to you in a safe, no risk environment.
Flow is what the Ninja have been using for 34 generations to distinguish themselves as the magicians of martial arts and survive overwhelming odds where it was flow or die. The training situations we practice at Shinobi Martial Arts Center simulate high risks situations, setting the stage for your mind to reach flow without actual risk.
During class using successful self-protection examples from our ninja ancestors you find yourself transitioning from fear, confusion and self-doubt to effortless movement, confidence and creativity in the face of risk. In that moment you are completely connected and you know you are capable of anything. You’re in flow.

"I do know it was purely amazing to witness a seven year old take it upon himself to find a place alone and use a tool he’s learned to produce a total and complete change in mental state. And a lasting effective change too. He plowed through the homework without another issue and held onto the new attitude without wavering. I still don’t even really know what to make of it honestly… I’m sort of dumbfounded."
"Shinobi Martial Arts just makes sense. I brought my daughter here as a child to learn some self-defense and ended up joining myself. The people are friendly, and their martial arts knowledge is second to none. We always have a great time here, while learning how to stay alive in the crazy world of today. I can't recommend it enough. "
"Having trained in multiple martial arts for more than 10 years, I enthusiastically endorse Shinobi Martial Arts. The curriculum is safe and non-aggressive, but devastating in its power. Shinobi serves all ages and body types. The dojo has a casual, affirming atmosphere. Women train in an environment of equality and respect with no macho posturing. I earned a black belt from Shinobi, my second, and turned 60 in the same year. Shinobi is effective martial arts for the rest of us."
There are an infinite number of possible self protection situations you may have to deal with; strikes, kicks, weapons, multiple attackers, surprise attacks or even just intimidation. It is impossible to have a memorized technique for every one. Under real life stress your emotions get in the way and you simply can’t recall the “right” answer.
Training with other members of Shinobi Martial Arts Center teaches you to use these natural emotions to your advantage. Whether you are feeling a protective confidence, a cautious defensiveness, an assertive urgency, or evasive detachment, ninjutsu uses these base emotions like primary colors or notes on a scale to enter into flow and create the right answer for that moment.
